We believe that the heart of a quality program begins with people who care for your children. Our commitment is to ensure a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. Special attention during our interview process allows us to screen for caring, competent staff that have a sincere commitment to children.
All teachers are required to attend a Teacher Orientation, complete our training program, create a professional development plan, hold current certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR, and meet or exceed Child Care Licensing certification requirements.
Continued training is provided to all of our teachers each year and they are encouraged to participate in other training and educational opportunities. It is important to us that they maintain the highest professional level of skill and motivation for their very challenging work. Throughout the year, teachers are given constructive feedback regarding their professional growth. Our wonderful teachers provide the nurturing dynamic learning environment in which children thrive.
Excellent professional development is one of the keys to outstanding teachers. Motivation, new resources, and time for reflection are crucial to encourage excellence in teaching practices. We believe in a strong image of the teacher where growth is not only expected, it is nurtured. When the Young School is closed for Professional Development days, the teachers and administrators are working to make our school a better place for children by working on their own professional growth as educators.
We have worked with many inspiring minds in the education field with a strong focus on arts integration, STEM, loose parts, drama, music and movement.
We have built strong relationships with both Polly Elam (our RIE consultant) and Naama Zoran (Reggio consultant) who have mentored our leadership team and have visited our schools, provided workshops for our teachers and support our educational journey.
